What Is an In-Hospital Newborn Session?

An in-hospital session (often called a “Fresh 48” session) is a professional newborn photo session that takes place within the first 24–48 hours after birth — but what makes Simply Blessed Portraits unique is that I bring a mini studio right into your hospital room.

This includes:

  • Cozy wraps, blankets, and simple props
  • Soft, timeless color palettes
  • Gentle baby-led posing

Your room becomes a peaceful, comfortable space where your baby can be photographed safely and beautifully without you having to leave your bed.

1. Baby Arrives — You Send Me a Quick Text at 315-886-2054

When your baby is born, a simple message lets me know it’s time to schedule the session. I schedule the session for the day after birth typically.

2. I Bring the Studio to Your Room

I arrive with everything needed for beautiful newborn photos:

  • Professional, soft lighting
  • posing table
  • Wraps and blankets in color of your choice picked when you schedule
  • A sanitizable posing setup
  • Optional bows, hats, and outfits for use

Setup takes just a few minutes and fits comfortably in most hospital rooms.

3. A Calm, Baby-Led Session

Your newborn stays safe and comfortable the entire time. I follow their cues — whether they are sleepy, alert, or somewhere in between. My goal is to keep everything peaceful and stress-free for both baby and parents.
